Nope not Pilates, November 19, 2010

The person below is correct its NOT pilates, I bought this only for the small hand weights, I DID NOT want a pilates DVD. I did pop in the DVD and was happy to see it wasn't bad at all, you do NOT sit on the floor with this, its more of a simple aerobic workout. I am uncoordinated, and this is on of the first workouts I have been able to follow.

I love Mari Winsor and have a variety of her Pilates DVD workouts. I knew when I ordered this was not Pilates but thought I would give it a try. I have some back injuries and knew when I watched the DVD that I would not be able to do this as it was a little higher impact than my back can stand. I thought the equipment included was of good quality and the program is sound. I gave this to my daughter to use.

I like this video & feel it is a nice change of pace. Mari's personality is not as obnoxious as other instructors & it got my heartrate up. The movements are dance-inspired and left me with the same wonderful "stretched-out" feeling of traditional pilates. My only gripe is that Mari doesn't seem to cue as well as some of her other videos which was hard on me and my two left feet at times. Overall, I found it to be enjoyable and seemed effective as well, especially by adding the light weights.
